For my wallpaper design, I chose to create a winter scene of falling snow in a variety of blues. One single snowflake of the bunch in the 8 by 8 pattern is an anomaly, being 8 sided, while the rest are designed after real snowflakes that were photographed and enlarged. To create the repeating pattern, I purposefully let some elements go beyond the board, and then repeated the overlapping elements on the opposite side. For the background layer, I wanted to create a distant snowfall. Some snowflakes are darker than others, allowing the dimmer ones to fade into the back as if they are further away.
