I created "Never Lose Hope" as a piece of commentary on Depression. For someone suffering from depression, the world can feel just out of reach. The cave itself is representative of this feeling and the larger-than-life outside world represents experiences that can occasionally feel surreal to someone dealing with depression. While the outside world can sometimes filter in, such as with flower petals on the wind in this piece, the vibrant and sometimes beautiful world can feel untouchable and unrelatable to the person stuck in a cave.
